Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday, stormed the party’s national secretariat in Abuja in protest against the assumption of office of Sunday Ude-Okoye as the party’s National Secretary.

It was gathered that the protesters are loyalists of embattled national secretary of the party, Senator Sam Anyanwu, who was recently removed by an appeal court sitting in Abuja.
The protesters gathered at the rear gate of the PDP’s Wadata Plaza headquarters in Wuse Zone 5, chanting slogans such as “No vacancy in the National Secretary’s office” and “Senator Sam Anyanwu remains the National Secretary.”
Meanwhile, security has been heightened at the premises, with additional police officers deployed to maintain order and prevent any disruption.
A police lorry has been stationed outside the main gate, and personnel are working alongside the PDP’s regular security team to search workers and visitors before granting them entry into the building.
It was further gathered that amidst the uncertainty, Senator Samuel Anyanwu has resumed office as National Secretary of PDP.
He arrived the party secretariat around 10:56 a.m., and headed straight for his office where he was received by his personal staff.
Speaking to reporters while seating at his desk, Anyanwu dismissed a statement credited to the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba.
Ologunagba had confirmed to reporters that the party had received the Appeal Court judgment recognizing Sunday Okoye as National Secretary.
In response, Anyanwu said: “That is his opinion. It’s not the opinion of the party.
“As National Publicity Secretary of the party, I wouldn’t want to disparage him. Maybe he didn’t get the facts correctly. I have appealed.”
