The Ondo State Police Command has commenced a comprehensive, intelligence-led and technology-driven investigation into a reported case of burglary and stealing at First Vigeo Supermarket, Oke-Ijebu, Akure.

Ondo State Command,on 16th January, 2026, one Mrs. Vivian, owner of First Vigeo Supermarket, reported at the Police Station that on the same date, at about 0740hrs, she arrived at her supermarket and discovered that the entrance door had been forcefully tampered with.
Upon gaining access into the premises, she observed that several items were missing and suspected to have been stolen. The items include two laptops valued at about ₦580,000, perfumes valued at ₦17,000, a cash sum of ₦2,959,400, and wristwatches with values yet to be ascertained.
She further stated that the supermarket’s CCTV system had been deliberately disconnected. However, through diligent forensic examination and technological review, a recovered footage revealed an unidentified individual jumping into the building. A careful and enhanced analysis of the footage showed a strong resemblance to one Bello, male, who operates a workshop adjacent to the supermarket.
Acting on credible intelligence, digital evidence, and preliminary investigative findings, operatives of the Command arrested the suspect. He is currently in Police custody and has made useful statements. Investigation is ongoing, leveraging technology, intelligence gathering, and community cooperation, with a view to recovering the stolen items and ensuring diligent prosecution.
