The management of Sparklight News has announced the appointment of Abdullahi Muritala as its new Associate Editor.
Muritala, a freelance investigative, solutions and constructive journalist, is also a fact-checker. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Education from Usmanu Danfodiyo University.
In a letter of appointment signed by the Editor-in-Chief, Tosin Adesile, and obtained on Tuesday, the management described Muritala as a seasoned investigative journalist and solutions journalism writer whose expertise will add value to the organisation.
The statement noted that his appointment is expected to strengthen the editorial desk of Sparklight News, particularly in advancing solutions journalism and fact-checking initiatives.
Muritala is also expected to play a leading role in pioneering solutions-oriented reporting within the organisation, in line with its commitment to impactful and responsible journalism.
