Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has strictly warned against the plot to destabilize peace and security of Igbajo town, by some group of people led by one Prince Gboyega Famodun; who by chance, wants to choose a conflicting date for Oroke festival.
Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke said, the Governor has directed security officials to deal with anybody that has chosen to mess with the peace of the town.
“In a bid to forestall breakdown of law and order and in line with my responsibility as the Chief Security Officer of Osun state, I direct security agencies to enforce the holding of the Oroke festival on the official date of May 23rd and to ensure no gathering is held on May 19th set by any other faction.
“The above directive and actions are taken to maintain peace and protect the ancient town from those hell bent on manipulating the traditional institution to destabilize the state”, the signed press release declared.
Additionally and assertively, the spokesperson said the recognized Head of the traditional institution of Igbajo town (Owa of Igbajo) by the State is Oba Ademola Makinde. So, any action by any opposing camp against the date chosen for Oroke festival is against the traditions and law of the state.
