Engineer Ibrahim Gusau has been reelected after the factional election of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria
held in Kebbi State.
It was gathered that 34 states including Kebbi were present at the Abuja parallel AFN elections.
According to the Chairman of the 2021 AFN, Prince Jambright Sumanu, while announcing the results of
the polls stated that out of the total 22 votes, Engineer Gusau polled 20 votes to emerge the winner and declared Prince Sunday Adeleye as the First Vice President with a majority of 15votes.
Prince Sunday Adeleye scored the majority of 15votes, while his opponents, Patrick Esther got three
votes, while Solomon Abari got four votes.
Nneka Idem emerged as the winner for the post of the Second Vice President as she garnered 13 out of
the 22 votes, leaving opponents, Janet Wilson and Esther Mali, with one and eight votes respectively.
Among the dignitaries that witnessed the elections are Barrister Solomon Dalung, Former Minister of
Youth and Sports Development; General Samir Camas, South Sudan Athletics Federation President; and
Ismail Hussein, Former House of Representatives member.
