The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities,(ASUU) has filed an appeal to protest the ruling of the National Industrial Court in Abuja which ordered ASUU to end its ongoing nationwide strike, which began on February 14.
According to a source in ASUU, the legal team is expected to file an appeal and stay of execution of the judgment.
Justice Polycarp Hamman, in a ruling on Wednesday had invoked Section 18 of Trade Dispute Act, which allows the court to order an end to strike when national interest is at stake.
