The University of Lagos has clarified misconceptions surrounding the postgraduates examination date and time received by email, text messages and the School website.
Late last week, the School of Postgraduates announced the 2020/2021 qualification exam for its postgraduate programmes which was scheduled to hold between Wednesday 10th March and 12thFriday, 2021 divided into morning and afternoon session respectively.
However, many prospective candidates are worried over the text messages sent to candidates on when to write the exams which are totally different from the scheduled released through its website spgs.unilag.edu.ng.
According to a candidate who preferred anonymity explained that the text message received says: Your University of Lagos, School of Postgraduate Studies qualifying examinations has been scheduled for morning session Thursday 11th March, 2021 between 9am-12noon.
The Student said he also received another email intimating him of his examination holding on Thursday against the text message received.
Another female prospective candidate also exercised worry as she was yet to come to terms with the actual dates saying this had affected all she had read with the fear that she might miss writing the examination adding that she needed to take permission from work by telling her boss the exact time to be excused from the office.
The Sparklight News who reached out to Professor Alabi Soneye, Dean of the School of Postgraduates, University of Lagos said there is no cause for worry.
He confirmed to us through a message that most of the complaints has reached them and they are aware at the Postgraduate School.
Soneye said there are few candidates whose examination has been rescheduled for day one due to a last minutes minor strategic review of plans.
The Dean said enough arrangements has been made for requests on clarifications, observations and complaints.
“Candidates have been so advised online that such should be sent to the help contacts provided at spgs.unilag.edu.ng as they will be counseled appropriately”, said Soneye.
