The National Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress have agreed to suspend the strike to allow for implementation of their demands.
It was reported that NLC has directed that all its affiliate members should direct their members to return to work.
According to reports, the meeting which started on Sunday, was concluded on Monday and the two labour unions agreed to shelved the indefinite strike which was earlier scheduled to kick off tomorrow, October 3rd.
Confirming the development, Adewale Adeyanju, deputy president of NLC, directed all members of the Maritime sector to resume work on Tuesday, 3rd September, 2023.
