Prof. Joseph Alakali has stepped down from his position as the Secretary to the Benue State Government (SSG).
It was reported that Alakali’s resignation was based on personal challenges whose details were not disclosed.
Tersoo Kula, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Hyacinth Alia, made this known in a statement on Tuesday, noting that Alakali submitted his letter of resignation on Monday.
The statement reads in part; “In accepting the resignation, Gov. Alia expressed gratitude to Prof. Alakali for serving the state under his administration for a year and three months.”
“He wishes him well and prays that the Almighty grants the former SSG the strength to tackle the many challenges he has chosen to address,” the statement added.
