Ivory Coast Defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria to 2 – 1 to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Super Eagles secure their early lead in the 38th minute with a header from captain W. Troost-Ekong.
Both teams struggled throughout the second half until the 62nd minute when F.Kessié header led to an equalizer for the elephant of Ivory Coast.
A strike by S.Haller at the 81st minute gave the trophy to the elephant of Ivory Coast.
Ivory Coast has become the 9th country to host and win the trophy.
The AFCON 2023 is the third AFCON Trophy that Ivory Coast will win after they won AFCON in 1992 and 2015.
