The Kano State House of Assembly approved the Kano State Emirates Council Establishment Bill 2024 after the bill successfully passed its third reading on Tuesday.
The proposal, put forward by Muhammad Bello Bututu, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly and representative of Rimin Gado/Tofa state constituency, aims to designate Kano as a top-tier emirate, with Rano, Gaya, and Karaye being recognized as second-tier emirates.
