Popular Islamic Preacher, Muyideen Bello, Is Dead

A renowned Islamic cleric and preacher, Alhaji Muyideen Ajani Bello, has reportedly passed away the age of 84.

Bello, according to a family source, died on Friday morning after a brief illness.

“The cleric, who was once Missioner, Ansar-u-Deen Islamic Society, Kano State Branch, would be buried this evening in Ibadan,” said the source.

The Ibadan-born cleric, widely respected for his bold preaching of truth to those in power, left a lasting impact on many in Nigeria’s religious and political circles.

His death was also confirmed by Agidigbo FM, a radio station in Ibadan.Sheikh Bello spent much of his life in Kano State, where he was known for his unwavering commitment to social justice and speaking out against corruption.

Sheikh Bello, a reverred figure in Islamic circles, was born in 1940 into the family of Alhaji Bello Ajani and Alhaja Ubaidat Bello of Arolu Compound, Ita Olukoyi, Ibadan.
