Operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on patrol of Ikoyi arrested a suspected vandal on Alfred Rilwane Road, by Glover Road, with five folded protective mesh that were used to guide road median on the highway.
The suspect, Mohammed ibraheem, 25 years old, was arrested with neatly folded protective mesh. His accomplice fled on sighting the police.
Same day, and at about 2:00 a.m. another patrol team on Third Mainland Bridge arrested Segun Akinola, 30 years old and ex-convict.
According to Akinola, “I woke up pass 12:00 a.m. and I stole my friend’s bicycle. I am riding it to Ondo State.” His confession shocked the operatives.
They drove him to Muslim Road, Banana Island, Lagos where the team met his friend still sleeping (2:27 a.m.) in a Bus Stop. He confirmed Akinola stole his bicycle.
Both Mohammed and Akinola have been arraigned in court.
The bike would be returned to its owner once prosecution is completed.
