The Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) has inaugurated its Ondo State Chapter.
The event, which took place at Elizade University Law Auditorium, was held in collaboration with the Department of Mass Communication.
The inauguration was presided over by Professor Rotimi Olatunji, National President of the Association, alongside the Vice President (South-West), Comrade Lanre Arogundade, General Secretary, Dr Solomon Oyeleye and Dr Tosin Adesile, National ICT Officer 1.
One of the highlights of the event was a lecture titled “The Role of Professionals in Combating Information Disorder in the Media Space”, delivered by a distinguished scholar, Dr Felix Talabi, an associate professor of Mass Communication.
The presence of the chairman of the occasion, Dr Dayo Duyile, the doyen of Nigerian journalism, further added prestige and colour to the occasion.
The newly inaugurated executive members: State Coordinator: Mr Sunday Kolawole (OSRC); Deputy State Coordinator: Dr Toyin Adinlewa (AAUA); Secretary: Mr Richard Ilesanmi (JABU), Treasurer: Mrs Oluwaseyi Oladokun (Elizade University); Mobilisation Officer: Mr Tope Fayehun; Publicity Secretary: Mr Tosin Ajuwon and Logistics Officer: Mr Dare Attah (Elizade University).
Speaking at the event, Dr Tosin Adesile, the founding member of the newly formed state chapter, appreciated God for the wisdom to bring together Communication Scholars and the support garnered from friends and well wishers.
” To the Glory of God, ACSPN Ondo State Chapter is Born, we call on communication professionals and academics in Ondo State Chapter to reach out to the new executives to be part “, he said.
The event was attended by Professor Joseph Fabayo, A Professor of Economics and Dean, Faculty of Management,Humanities and Sciences, Other academics, communication professionals, stakeholders and students from the Department of Mass Communication, Elizade University.
