The Ondo State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, has paraded seven suspected criminals arrested across the state in recent weeks.

Speaking with newsmen in Akure, the state capital, Adetunji Adeleye, Commander of the Corps, said the suspects were apprehended for various crimes including theft, kidnapping, and cult-related activities.

One of the suspects, he revealed, was arrested for attempting to steal a carton of mobile phones valued at over ₦300 million.

The suspect reportedly posed as a passenger and began offloading the goods from a vehicle transporting them from Lagos to Akure.

Also in custody is a suspected kidnapper who has been terrorizing communities in Akure North Local Government Area, and a cult group leader who had been on Amotekun’s wanted list for several months.

Commander Adeleye added that two kidnap victims were rescued along the Akure–Iju–Ado Ekiti Road without any ransom being paid.
