Minister of Works Hosts Chinese Delegation

The federal government has reiterated its commitment to partnering with the Chinese government in the areas of capacity building, equipment provision, and technology transfer.

Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Minister of State for Works, stated this while hosting a high-level delegation from CGGC Global at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.

Key issues discussed during the meeting included training opportunities for Nigerian engineers, the provision of modern equipment for road maintenance, the transfer of advanced road construction methodologies to support local adaptation, and the promotion of long-term sustainability.

The Minister of State for Works expressed confidence that this collaboration will significantly strengthen Nigeria’s infrastructural development roadmap.

He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to transforming Nigeria’s road infrastructure through enhanced technical capacity and the adoption of modern engineering practices in line with global best standards.

The Vice President of CGGC Global, He Yonglun, expressed the company’s strong interest in contributing to Nigeria’s infrastructure development.
The meeting ended on a positive and constructive note, with both parties agreeing to establish a joint technical committee to evaluate the Ministry’s requests alongside the company’s proposals and to develop a clear framework for cooperation.
