Troops Kill 17 Terrorists, Foils Insurgents’ Infiltration in Monguno & Bitta

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in the northeast, have foiled an infiltration by insurgents in Monguno and Bitta, Neutralising several of them and recovering arms and gadgets.

At Monguno, the troops recovered a large quantity of 7.62 millimetre special ammunition, 1 PKT belt, 1 AK-47 rifle magazine, Rocket Propelled Grenade Bomb and other sundry items.

At Bitta, the troops engaged the insurgents with superior firepower, resulting in the neutralisation of several terrorists, among whom was a senior Commander, Ibn Khalid and also their cameraman and recovered AK-47 magazines.

In other subsidiary operations within the period, a total of 17 terrorists were neutralised in various offensives from the Sambisa enclaves up to Madagali and Kaga Local Government Areas, with several logistic items and motorcycles also captured.

The troops have been commended by the military higher authorities for their show of resilience and urged them to sustain the fight against the insurgents.
