One person was confirmed dead and several other injured in an accident that involved the vehicles belonging to President Akufo-Addo convoy on Sunday.
The president of Ghana was unharmed and safe according to a statement issued by Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications from the office of the president.
Several vehicles from the convoy of President Akufo-Addo has been involved in an accident on Accra-Kumasi highway.
The accident is said to have occurred at Bunso Junction in the Eastern Region.
Reports say the vehicle was crossed by a KIA Rhino truck, resulting in the crash.
Mr. Kwesi Atta, the driver of the Toyota Land Cruiser died on the spot while several other occupants of the vehicle sustained varying degrees of injury.
President Akufo-Addo who attended the funeral of former Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah, in Kumasi over the weekend was not in the convoy during the accident because he had travelled through the military aircraft to Accra.
