92 Years Old Paul Biya Wins Presidential Election for Eight Term

President Paul Biya, aged 92, has won an eighth term in office, securing 53.7% of the vote in Cameroon’s presidential election.

This was contained in official results announced by the Constitutional Council on Monday.

The victory extends Biya’s 43-year rule, one of Africa’s longest.

Former government minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary, who claimed a 54.8% win based on his own count, placed second with 35.2%.
