I receive around 980,000 monthly as a VC but I am not complaining…Unilag VC

Professor Temitayo Ogundipe, the Vice chancellor,University of Lagos has said contrary to what people think on the big lifestyle Vice chancellors in Nigeria lives,he explained that he receives around 980,000 monthly as a VC.

How much is 980,000 in today’s economy but i am not complaining.

He made this disclosure during the leadership retreat organised by the newly elected executives of the Lagos State Alumni at Radisson Blue Ikeja,Lagos.

Ogundipe who spoke on various issues said he is happy to be associated with the University of Lagos and as an Alumnus of the great institution.

The VC who said Alumnus owns any school reiterated that they are the ones who contributes immensely to the success of the University saying most of the visible projects during his tenure are through the generous donation of Alumnus.

He assured members of the public that despite issues that confronted the institution this year,UNILAG will go back to ranking top saying the University has received over 8 billion research Grants since he became VC.

“It is only a University like Unilag that can raise that in Nigeria”,Ogundipe said.

On delay in transcript issuance, he said the issue has become an embarrassment to the University attributing the problem to the analogue age results in which many approved results back then does not have clean copies broadsheet and because of that the people in that office needs to search and make use of three different broadsheets to identify the results of someone who overstayed and had to re-sit several papers while in school adding that the results of the people who graduated in the digital age has never been a problem.

Ogundipe who answered journalists on resumption and Convocation said the University Senate would meet and pick a date on that with the hope that COVID-19 will be a thing of the past.

Professor Ogundipe who also commends the newly elected executives for starting well with a leadership retreat promised his unalloyed support for them to have a smooth tenure.

He further commended the Chairman,Dr Oluwatosin Olowojebutu for being a visionary leader.
