The Ogun State House of Assembly has received reports of disruption of academic calendar of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta due to incessant strikes by the academic staff of the institution as presented before the State House of Assembly by the Chairman, House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Yusuf Amosun, coupled with the e-petition received by the Speaker on the same matter.
It would also be recalled that the Students protested two weeks ago over increment in acceptance fee, delay in result and other changes.
Therefore, the State House of Assembly has resolved to convene a public hearing to address issues affecting the institution and protect the students from unnecessary delay caused by the strike.
The Speaker disclosed that the Assembly planned to convene the public hearing comprising stakeholders of the institution including the Governing Board, Management and Staff, as well as students and other concerned individuals with a view to finding a lasting solution to issues affecting the school very soon.
