Following a strike notice issued by members of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, (ASUP),the minister of Education had invited them for a meeting on ways to resolve the outstanding issues.
According to a statement by Mr Ben Bem Goong, the Director of Press at the Ministryof Education,he noted that the meeting will commence by 11am today at the Ministry’s Headquarters.
On the reason for the meeting,he said it was to nip the strike in the bud.
It would be recalled that ASUP issued a notice of strike over what the union described as refusal of the Government to implements some of the agreements entered into the union and the Federal government.
