Edo dissolves Ambrose Alli University Governing Council, appoints acting VC

The Edo State Government has announces the dissolution of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma Governing council. It also announced the appointment of Prof. Osarhieme Benson Osadolor as the acting Vice Chancellor. 

This directives was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Osarodion Ogie, Secretary to the State Government.

The dissolution and appointment takes immediate effect while the Ambrose Alli University (Special Intervention Power) provision law 2021 empower the intervention of  the visitor of University in the interest of the school during crises.

It would  recalled that the institution has been brought to it’s knees by mismanagement and maladministration, leaving students  to remain at home, with the attendant adverse effect on their academic pursuit.

Prof. Osadolor, Fulbright scholar is to immediately take over the administration of the institution towards revamping and repositioning of the institution.

A professor of History at the University of Benin, is trained at the University of Hamburg, Germany and University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Four decades career as an academic and University administrator, which has taken him places in various academic field,  such as Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, USA, Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland, San Diego State University, San Diego, California, USA , University of Benin Benin City, Nigeria. University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, Igbinedion University, Okada, Nigeria, among others .

Prof. Osadolor is also a visiting research fellow in the Africa History at the University of Hamburg, Germany and an academic consultant to the Art History Museum in Vienna Australia.
