Kaduna state House of Assembly is ready to scrutinize the financial Irregularities of Nasir El-Rufai’s administration while in office as the Governor; following the special report given by the committee in charge.
The plenary session which took place on the floor of the house on Wednesday, June 5 2024, saw to the highlighting of financial misappropriation of loans that were borrowed but not utilized for the purpose for which it was borrowed for.
Henry Zachariah, Chairman of the ad-hoc committee posited that the loans were not dutifully utilized for the intended purposes, and the means at which the loans were borrowed, never followed the right procedures.
Yusuf Liman, Speaker of the House of Assembly, upon receiving the report, declared openly that El-Rufai’s administration misappropriated a whooping sum of N423 billion, and this had led to instabilities in the state.
However, the ad-hoc committee by the power vested in them, have recommended investigating El-Rufai and his team members for their involvement in money laundering, misusing of public funds and other financial related offences.
