President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election in the 2026 Osun State governorship election, describing the outcome as a reflection of the will of the people.

Tinubu, in a statement issued after the election, said Adeleke’s victory demonstrated the confidence the people of Osun State had in his leadership.
The President disclosed that he personally called Adeleke earlier on Sunday to congratulate him on his victory and wished him success as he prepares to begin another four-year term.
He urged the governor to use his renewed mandate to unite the people of Osun State and promote growth, stability and socio-economic development, irrespective of how residents voted during the election.
“Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election,” Tinubu said.
The President also commended the other candidates who participated in the election, praising what he described as their courage and discipline.
According to him, their participation contributed to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic culture, while the outcome reflected the choice of the electorate.
Tinubu further commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
He expressed optimism that Nigeria’s democracy would continue to thrive and become stronger.
“May our democracy continue to thrive and be strengthened,” the President said, adding, “God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
