In preparation for the State Local Government Council elections, the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has sent a list of five nominees to be considered for appointment into the State Independent Electoral Commission.
The move which is long overdue is coming ahead of the forthcoming election.
Those who made the list are: Babatunde Osibodu (Chairman-designate), Olatunji Akoni, Tajudeen Omoloja, Ayodele Bankole and Mrs. Gbemi Onasanya as members -designate.
Olakunle Oluomo,Speaker of the State Assembly read the governor’s letter dated February 19, 2021 during plenary, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Tuesday.
The letter read in part, “In furtherance of our desire to improve the quality-of-service delivery to the good people of Ogun State, Mr. Speaker, please find attached the list and curriculum vitae of nominees for the post of Chairman and members of the State Independent Electoral Service Commission for your consideration.”
The nominees had therefore been directed to appear before the lawmakers for screening on Thursday, February 25, 2021 with 30 copies each of their Curriculum Vitae and Photocopies of their Credentials with the originals at the Conference Room 215 of Assembly Complex in Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta at 2:00pm prompt.
