Ademola Adeleke, Osun State Governor, has commenced the payment of salaries to market women (Iyalojas) in the state.
This is done in collaboration with the Caretaker Local government Chairmen in Osun state, as each leader representing different LGAs would be paid by the state government.
On Tuesday, July 15, 2024, the association of market women applauded the state Governor for having their interest at heart.
At the Conference hall of Ministry of Trade and commerce, Chief Mrs. Grace Eniola Omotoso, Special Adviser to the Governor on Market affairs stated that the E-payment of funds to market women across LGAs in Osun state is now part of the promise which has been fulfilled by the Governor.
Eniola Omotoso, the Special Adviser said: “The administration of our amiable Governor, Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has proven without doubts, that it is a talk-and-do government for all.
“Against all odds, His Excellency, in conjunction with the Local Government Caretaker Committees across the State has commenced monthly allowances for all our Iyalojas across the State.
“This is unprecedented in the history of Osun State market women and it serves as an encouragement to all that dividends of democracy will not elude anyone, in the nooks and crannies of Osun State”
However, Chief Mrs. Mary Oyebode, the Iyaloja-General of the state appreciated the efforts of the state government in boosting commercial activities and also pledged unlimited support to the administration.
