Nigeria Super Eagles has defeated Ivory Coast, the AFCON host country to add 3 points to their initial 1 point on the table.
The Super Eagles won their second Group A match with a lone goal.
The Eagles were awarded a penalty in the 54th minute after Victor Osimhen was brought down in the Ivorian defence box.
Victor Osimhen was fouled in the box which led to a penalty that was converted to goal by W. Troost Ekong in 55 minutes of the second half.
This is Nigeria’s second match in the 2024 AFCON, Nigeria now ranks second in the table with 4 points.
Nigeria is expected to play Guinea-Bissau in their last match of the group stage on the 22nd of January 2023.
