AFCON: Nigeria Beats Egypt to Secure Third Place

Nigeria beat Egypt on penalties Saturday at Casablanca’s Mohammed V Stadium to secure third place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after a draw in regulation time.

The Super Eagles won the shootout 4-2, sealing a strong finish after a tense match, one day before the final in Rabat. They reached the third-place match after losing to Morocco on penalties in the semifinals.

Morocco and Senegal will face off for the AFCON trophy in the final on Sunday at Rabat’s Moulay Abdellah Stadium at 8 p.m.
