Salihu Mohammed Lukman, All Progressives Congress National Vice Chairman (North West), has resigned from his position.
It was learnt that Lukman’s resignation was to kick against speculations that former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, would be named as APC’s National Chairman.
In a letter dated July 26, Lukman said the current atmosphere within APC was not in tandem with the vision of the founding fathers.
The letter was addressed to the APC National Working Committee, NWC-led by the acting National Chairman, Abubakar Kyari.
Lukman had warned APC against replacing the former National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu with Ganduje, noting that it would amount to suicidal to embark on such replacement.
It would be recalled that Adamu and Iyiola Omisore, the immediate past National Secretary of APC, reportedly resigned their positions last week, ahead of scheduled National Caucus and National Executive Council, NEC, meetings, slated to hold Monday, July 18 and Tuesday 19 respectively. The meeting was, however, postponed following the duo resignation.
