By Ikugbadi Oluwasegun

Benue State Ministry of Education has adopted some changes in policies with a view to reduce pressures on the masses.

A Statement by Helen Nambativ Zeramo, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, indicates that unpopular use of restricted customised education materials such as text/exercise books making non-transferable to subsequent learners is abolished.

All schools, both Public and Private have been directed to revert immediately to the traditional passing of such materials from senior students/learners to the junior ones

Compulsory and extended lessons after normal regular school hours cease, except with the concent of parents or guardians

All compulsory school graduation ceremonies are abolished, especially for Nursery and Basic Schools.

The Statement directs that the implementation of the policies should be strictly adhered to from the 2025/2026 academic year.
