Borno state Police command has confirmed an explosion in Konduga local government area claiming two lives and leaving four others injured just hours after the recovery of an unexploded ordnance in Dikwa local government area.
Kenneth Nahum Daso, Police Public Relations Officer, said the discovery was made after a farmer, Babagana Kachalla alerted authorities of a suspicious object on his land.
A team deployed by the Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid identified the object as a 2.2 metre long cluster bomb unit which was safely secured and no casualties recorded.
