Breaking: Soludo sworn in for second term

Professor Charles Soludo, Governor of Anambra State was officially sworn in for a second term during a ceremony at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka on Tuesday.

Soludo took the oath alongside his deputy, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, in an event attended by several dignitaries.

Among those present were Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, former Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku, and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, along with other state governors.

The inauguration came after Soludo’s win in the November 8, 2025, governorship election, officially announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Soludo secured 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, All Progressives Congress candidate Nicholas Ukachukwu, who got 99,445 votes, while Young Progressives Party candidate Sir Paul Chukwuma finished third with 37,753 votes.
