Business owners are the worst hit during the #EndSARS protest which had continued for days despite announcement and pleas by well-meaning Nigerians.
International bodies had also lent support to Nigerians youths asking for the government to accede to their request while warning that political leaders who are enmeshed in corruption and other claim risk visa ban.
According to a message received by our correspondent by Lead way Assurance, it reads” In light of the ongoing protest in Lagos, please be informed that our corporate office has been temporarily closed And we however assured you that our services remain uninterrupted as we have members of staff on hand to attend to your request”.
SparklightNews also learnt that many companies in Lagos had sent emails to their workers to work from home in the wake of the protest.
The protest which is triggered by long years of extortion, kidnapping, abuse by SARS officials on the citizen was meant to address police reform once and for all.
It would also be recalled that the Inspector General of Police during a press briefing on Sunday in response to the #EndSARS after due consultation with the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari announced the dissolution of SARS and announced afterwards the officer in those division will be deployed to other units.
He said a new policing arrangement to address armed robbery and other violent crimes that fall within the mandate of the dissolved tactical unit would be presented in due course.
The Inspector General of Police who later announced the replacement of SARS with Special Weapon and Tactics (SWOT) agreed to peoples concern but yet, people believed it is just a name changing while no reform will be carried out.
A protester by Nickname “Radical” told Sparklightnews that the Citizens no longer trust the governments and wants total implementation before the protest is put on hold.
SparklightNews also learnt business moguls, Governors and Stakeholders have been meeting considering the loses encountered by Nigerian youths had reiterated that the struggle has no leader so no meeting will hold water.
