Dapo Abiodun, Governor of Ogun State has appealed to youth to choose dialogue instead of protest.

Abiodun disclosed on Wednesday when meeting youth leaders in Ogun State, the Governor said, “We urge our youth to opt for dialogue over protests, which are being encouraged by unidentified groups. During a recent meeting with various youth organizations in Ogun State, we emphasised the importance of addressing issues through constructive and civil engagement.

“Our administration is dedicated to including young people in governance, having appointed many into key roles and creating opportunities through initiatives like the job portal and local content law. We have also established separate ministries for sport development and youth development to better address specific needs. We are in the process of appointing a new Commissioner for Youth Development, ensuring that our youth have a strong voice in the government.

“We understand that there are concerns and criticisms, particularly on social media, but we remain committed to our development agenda. Objective criticism is welcome, as it helps us improve our services to the state.

“We appreciate the support and feedback from the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and other youth leaders. We are confident that together, through dialogue and collaboration, we can address the issues facing our state and continue to build a better future for all.”
