The Edo State Government has intensified its campaign against illicit drugs in the state , leading to the arrest of seven suspects including a breastfeeding mother.
The suspects, comprising three males and four females , were paraded in Benin city by the Edo State Taskforce commissioner Hon. Festus Ebea, alongside other members of the team.
Displaying the drugs which were concealed in sacks and bags as well as the suspects, the commissioner for public safety and security Hon Festus Ebea said the arrests were made in Esan and Etsako, as the chairman of the Taskforce promised a safer state.
Some of the arrested suspects also spoke on their involvement as one of them said his case in being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
