A man suspected to be an official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been found dead in Lagos State.
In a video obtained on Monday, the mam simply identified as Sylvanus was seen lifeless and clad in traditional attire on a street of Lagos.
Onlookers in the area said his ID card signified he was working with the anti-corruption commission before his demise.
“Where e dey work, nah EFCC. His ID card dey there,” voices, including a policeman, said in the video.
The circumstances surrounding Sylvanus’ death are still unclear yet. However, reports indicated that EFCC is aware of his death.
This was confirmed by the agency’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale in a text message on Monday afternoon.
Oyewale said, “The death is being investigated.”
Sylvanus’s death comes less than two weeks after another EFCC officer, Aminu Sahabi Salisu, was shot dead by a suspected fraudster in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
The suspect in the incident is identified as Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu, an alleged internet fraudster.
The suspect attacked EFCC operatives during an operation in Awka and shot Salisu.
