About 2.9 million lightning strikes are anticipated to follow rain in May, according to the Nigeria Lighting, Safety and Research Centre (NLSRC).

The center advised Nigerians to use caution when moving around and engaging in activities outside during the month of rain.

The center warned people to safeguard their electrical devices and other equipment, according to Daily Trust, saying that some states were likely to experience more powerful lightning.

Nasarawa, FCT, Kogi, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Nasarawa, Edo, Osun, Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers, Cross River, Enugu, and Taraba were among the states included.

The center advised all Nigerians to be ready for potential fatalities and fire outbreaks because the states were more likely to experience catastrophic lightning strikes and flooding.
