FG To Reopen Enugu International Airport on Monday – FAAN

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a plan to reopen Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu for flight operations on Monday after successfully completing the repairs work on its runway.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by Mrs Obiageli Orah, FAAN Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, she said, The International Airport that was shut down on April 18th 2025 due to sudden significant rupture in the asphalt surface at a critical section of the runway which made it to be shut down for emergency repairs has been completed and the runway is clear for landings and taking offs by FAAN engineers.

She apologised for the inconvenience that the closure might have caused the customers and thanks stakeholders for supporting FAAN during the period of repairs.
