By our Reporter

Sunderland pulled off a sensational 2–1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, thanks to a dramatic stoppage-time winner from Chemsdine Talbi.

This is the first time in nine years that the Black Cats have beaten the Blues in the league.

The last time Sunderland beat Chelsea in the Premier League was on May 7, 2016.

That match, at the Stadium of Light, ended 3-2 in favour of Sunderland with Wahbi, Fabio Borini, and Jermain Defoe finding the net.

Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic scored for the visitor.

This win also ends Sunderland’s 14-year winless streak at Chelseas’s home. The last time the Black Cats won at Stamford Bridge was on April 19, 2014.

Sunderland won that match 2-1 thanks to goals by Connor Wickham and Borini. Samuel Eto’o scored for Chelsea.
