The African Action Congress (AAC) has written to President Bola Tinubu requesting approval to hold the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.
This was disclosed on Wednesday in a letter signed by Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, AAC National Secretary. The party said it wants to hold the ceremony on 11th November, 2026, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party also requested the provision of food, drinks, and other logistical support for 5,000 participants from home and abroad.
According to the letter, the request is made “in the spirit of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equal treatment of political parties.”
The AAC stated that its request is consistent with arrangements reportedly extended to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement.
The party said granting the request would demonstrate the Presidency’s commitment to fairness, equal access, and the principle that public institutions must serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination.
The letter concluded by asking the presidency to provide information on the applicable procedures and conditions for approval.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the presidency.
