The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has commenced a discreet investigation into a suspected culpable homicide at a hotel in Utako District, Abuja, following the death of a hotel staff member during an alleged physical confrontation.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, October 20, 2026, after the police received a distress report at about 5 a.m. concerning suspicious noise and activity on the third floor of the hotel.
According to the police, officers from Utako Division who responded to the report found one Samuel Net, a tiler reportedly hired by the hotel, with marks of violence on his body in Room 301. Another man, identified as Joseph Terdoo, a hotel staff member, was found unconscious on the floor with multiple marks of violence.
Terdoo was immediately rushed to Wuse District Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed him dead on arrival.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the two men had allegedly engaged in a disagreement that escalated into a physical confrontation. The police said Samuel allegedly pushed Terdoo, who fell and hit his head against a wooden object before collapsing.
The police said investigations were ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
