The maiden edition of the Nigeria Golf Federation, NGF Summit with delegates from over 70 clubs across the country expected to participate at the event scheduled to hold at the Ladi Kwali Hall of Sheraton Hotel, Abuja from Wednesday, August 31 to Friday, September 2, 2022.
President of the Federation and Convener of the Summit, Olusegun Runsewe said that the main aim of the event is to chart a new direction for the development of Golf in Nigeria.
The summit will also explore topical issues that will facilitate the rejuvenation of Golfing across the various Clubs in the country.
The Sports Administrator said, far reaching resolutions will be reached at the summit, which is expected to set the Game on a higher pedestal going forward.
Runsewe added that the NGF will utilise the event in galvernising the support base of the Golf Clubs Captains to be optimally involved in grassroots development of the sport.
The summit will also create the opportunity for Golfers in Nigeria to network and acquaint themselves with the process of World Handicap System, WHS, which is a universal ranking software that can be accessed by players globally.
The WHS was initiated by the Runsewe-led Board in partnership with the Royal and Ancient, R&A and when it is finalised will ease the development of Golfing in Nigeria.
The event will be chaired by the Chairman of IBB Board of Trustees, General Ibrahim Haruna (Rtd), while Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare will be the Special Guest of Honour.
