 Former Nigeria Super Eagles Forward Gets Professional Golfers Association Badge

Peter Osaze Odemwingie, Former Super Eagles Forward is relishing the opportunity to inspire many to explore the golfing world after he was certified as a member of the Professional Golfers Association following a mandatory three-year course at the University of Birmingham.

Odemwingie now 42, represented Nigeria 65 times competing at the 2004 AFCON winnings Bronze in Tunisia. He was selected as one of the over-age players for Nigeria’s Dream Team for the football event of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and won the Silver Medal.
In his peak, Odemwingie played at the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups in South Africa and Brazil securing Super Eagles’ first win at the tournament since 1998 as Nigeria Beat Bosnia Herzegovina by a lone goal at Arena Pantanal in Cuiaba on June 21 2014.

At the Club level, Odemwingie represented Bendel Insurance in the Nigerian League before spells in the French, Belgian, Russian and English Premier Leagues.

The PGA Training Programme Certification recently bagged by Odemwingie was founded more than 50 years ago and covers broad areas of golf including coaching, management and sports science. Golf as a profession has over 75 career options beyond Playing, Refereeing, Architecture and Medicine.
