Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has unveiled plans to probe the activities of the state government in the last eight years under his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
The governor made this known while swearing in Dagogo Iboroma as the new Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Rivers State.
It was recalled that Iboroma was screened and confirmed today as the Commissioner designate.
The Rivers State House of Assembly led by Victor Oko-Jumbo screened and confirmed the commissioner nominee sent to it by Governor Fubara.
During the screening on Monday, the nominee, Dagogo Iboroma, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, pledged to uphold the rule of law and serve the state diligently, irrespective of the ministry he will be deployed to.
The event was the first legislative session since the election of new principal officers, and the Speaker, Victor Oko-Jumbo backed by lawmakers supporting Governor Fubara of Rivers State.
Also present during the screening were principal officers and former members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Speaking during the swearing-in, Governor Fubara charged Iboroma to quickly set up panel of enquiry to look into the activities of the state government in the last 8 years.
