Governor Zulum Visits Victims of Kawuri Suicide Bomb Attacks, Vows to Tackle Reoccurrence

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has re- echoed position of his administration when he visited victims Kawuri attack at Maiduduguri Specialists Hospital Maiduguri.

The Borno state Government reiterates commitment to avert reoccurrence of suicide attacks on soft targets even as it condemns recent suicide bombing in Gwoza and Konduga local government areas.

Kawuri suicide attack occurred barely a month after the Gwoza incident which claimed lives of innocent citizens. Governor Zulum who sympathised with the victims of Kawuri bomb blast at Maiduguri Specialists Hospital and assured them of state government’s support to them.

He also appreciated the officials of the hospital, ICRC and SEMA for the timely response, adding that government will take all necessary steps to forestall resurgence of suicide attacks, including resorting to use of blended fertilizer for agriculture against the use of urea believed to be used by the terrorists for making IEDs.

On the protest which turned violence necessitating imposition of curfew, the Governor also expressed need to check excesses of some faceless people using teenagers for their selfish end.

Professor Zulum who announced lifting of the curfew from tomorrow six o’clock in the morning warned that government will not deal with anyone found in breach of law and order.

Last Wednesday Kawuri attack had claimed at least twenty lives many sustaining various degree of injury.
