IGP Kayode Egbetokun, Inspector-General of Police, has appointed the newly promoted Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Benneth Igweh to head the Zone 7 office of the Force, comprising the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Niger State.
AIG Igweh was deployed as the Police Commissioner of the FCT in February before his elevation to the rank of the AIG in September, by the Police Service Commission.
The information of his appointment was contained in a signal, with number 5361/FS/FHQ/ABJ/SUB.5/152.The signal, released by the police on September 5, authorised the immediate posting of 12 AIGs.
The signal read: “Posting Senior Officers INGENPOL (Inspector General of Police) has ordered the posting of the following AIGPOLS as indicated against their names:
“To AIG Zone 1 Kano, AIGPOL Mohammed Ari Ali; To AIG Zone 4 Makurdi, AIGPOL Julius Okoro; To AIG Zone 12 Buchi, AIGPOL Idowu Owohunwa and to AIG ONSA AIGPOL Rex Dundun.
“To Deputy Managing Director NPFPDCC (Nigeria Police Force Property Development and Construction Company) (Specialist), AIGPOL Rudolg Obe; To AIG Zone 7 Abuja, AIGPOL Benneth Igweh.
“To AIG PAB (Police Account and Budget) FHQ Abuja, AIGPOL Sulaiman Mohammed; To AIG Maritime Annex Lagos, AIGPOL Augustina Ogbodo and to AIG Zone 15 Maiduguri AIGPOL Kenechukwu Onwuemelie.
“To AIG Zone 2 Lagos, AIGPOL Fayoade Mustapha; To AIG Community Policing R&P FHQ ABI AIGPOL Adegboyega Adegboye and to AIG Communications (Specialist) DICT (Department of Information Technology FHQ Abuja, AIGPOL Mohammed Labbo.”
