INEC registers over 93m voters for 2023 polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it has registered 93, 469,008 voters for the 2023 polls.

According to a breakdown by INEC indicates that men constitute 52.5 percent while women make up the remaining 47.5 percent of the total figure.

This was contained in the final list of registered voters released to political parties by the electoral body on Wednesday at the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja.

Lagos leads in the list with 7,060,195 registered voters followed by Kano with 5,921,370. Other States followed the two top states.

Details of Registered Voters is 93,469,00 while 53,264 ineligible voters removed.

He said Males – 49,054,162 (52.5%) while Females – 44,414,846 (47.5%). Also, PWDs represents – 85,362 (2021/22 CVR) while Youths population (18-34): is 37,060,399 (39.65%) .

Speaking further,he said 2023 General Election will hold as scheduled and the Commission is not contemplating any postponement as wide reported while Election materials for 17 States delivered.

In addition,he said 13,868,441 PVCs printed,
has been delivered to States while Underaged voters, vote buyers will be arrested, prosecuted.
