Iran’s President, Foreign Minister Killed In Helicopter Crash

Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian have reportedly died in a helicopter crash that occurred on Sunday in a dense forest area in East Azerbaijan province.

According to Iran’s Mehr News Agency, which reported the incident in the early hours of Monday morning, the passengers included President Raeisi and Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian.

The helicopter was carrying other passengers, including East Azerbaijan Province Governor Malek Rahmati and Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to East Azerbaijan province. All on board are reported to have been killed.

Iranian state news agency IRINN further reported that no survivors were discovered at the crash site.
