Troops of the 6 Division Nigerian Army in collaboration with sister agencies have arrested twenty three suspected oil thieves across the Niger Delta.

The Division disclosed this in a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah, Acting Deputy Director Army public relations, said the operation which started in Rivers state led to the arrest of the suspects, alongside the deactivation of thirteen artisanal refineries and the confiscation of one hundred and eighty thousand liters of stolen products across the region.
The operation according to the acting Deputy Director of the Nigerian Army, also spreads to Bayelsa and Delta state where two thousand five hundred liters of stolen crude oil packed in sacks and one thousand one hundred liters of AGO were also recovered from the suspects hideouts.
The Joint Task Force is said to be disrupting the activities of the oil thieves in preventing economic saboteurs from having their way and their criminal activities across the Niger Delta.
Meanwhile, Major General Emmanuel Emekah, General Officer Commanding six division Nigerian Army, has called on the troops to sustain the pressure on all forms of economic sabotage in the region, as he urged the people of the region to continue to support military operations through useful information.
